Ever heard of the Hendy Group? If you’re anything to do with the automotive trade and you work in the south – you can’t really miss them. They must be one of the biggest dealer groups in the UK with a large amount of dealerships selling Ford, Honda, Kia, Mazda and more. Interested right? No me neither, not until a few years back anyway… The good thing about Hendy is they have a performance division aptly named ‘HendyPerformance’ which was established years back. A few years ago, Simon and the guys sorted me a few parts for my EP3 and we’ve been pretty tight ever since with them sorting out parts for both my past and current cars.
They used to be based in a small random industrial estate tucked away, until recently. Hendy has finally put a bit of money behind them giving them their own parts, workshop and showroom area in Eastleigh. Last weekend they decided to host their first open day – and what a turnout it was. What looked like hundreds of Honda’s, Ford’s and a few other marques littered the industrial estate where their new unit is – and rightly so. I normally take a lot more photos, but there were so many people in attendance I know and hadn’t seen for weeks which meant that I did more talking than snapping only photographing a few cars – always nice to see people though. Some epic cars were in attendance! Andy’s kswap ITB’d ek9, Brad’s stunning dc2 and Tom’s unique fifteen52 themed mk7 ST to name just a few.
The new unit is seriously impressive and you should come see for yourself. I was really pleased with the turnout for the guys, they work hard and I think this is going to bring them a lot of attention, publicity and recognition they deserve. Can’t wait for the next one. While Hendy Performance normally supply parts for Ford and Honda, they can supply for other marques too so please don’t hesitate to give the guys a ring.
Hold tight, next year’s show season isn’t too far off.
